Drawings and Annotations
Introduction
The drawing and annotation features allow users to place angle measurements, straight lines, and free-form drawings on the video of study.
Location: Once a video is recorded or uploaded, the joint isolation is located in the playback view. In playback view, the drawing and annotating feature can be enabled by clicking the pencil icon on the left-hand side.
Purpose and Functionality
The drawing and annotations features allow users to make annotations and notes on their video analysis. It serves as a way to better describe the movement in the video using visual cues, lines, and custom drawings. The drawing feature works best as a way to describe the movement in person to an athlete, or use a screen recording to capture all of your thoughts in one simple video to be shared.

How to Use the Drawings and Annotations
The drawing and annotations option is located in the playback view. The drawing menu will appear by pressing the drawing pencil icon.
Once opened, the menu will appear on the right side of the screen with different drawing options.
Drawing Functionality
Once the drawing menu is open on the right, a variety of features are available to manually notate the video and playback:
- Clear Drawing (1): The top option clears all drawings that have been drawn in the view, including all angles, lines, and free drawings.
- Undo (2): The undo option deletes the most recent drawing on the view. For angles, it deletes the most recent plotted point, and for free draw, it deletes the most recent line drawn.
- Custom Angles (3): Users can plot and drag points to measure any angle on the screen. Toggle through this button to draw horizontal and vertical reference lines.
- Measuring Distance (4): Measure a distance on the screen by plotting and dragging two points.
- Change Stroke Size (5): Freely mark up or highlight any part of the analysis and change the width of the line.
- Change Stroke Color (6): Toggle through this button to change the color of the angle, or drawn line.

How to Best use the Drawing Feature
The ability to draw and annotate the video is important for sharing motion analysis. Draw on the video or frame to provide emphasis, direction or other thoughts. You can draw on a single frame, save and export the image to share.
Drawings can also be exported as part of a video during screen recording. While screen recording, all highlights and annotations will be recorded along with the voiceover and playback to make a comprehensive analysis to be exported.
Tips and Best Practices
Use Drawings and Annotations for:
- Highlighting certain aspects of an analysis during a screen recording.
- Measuring angles not available in automatic joint tracking.
- Displaying reference lines to better highlight body asymmetry.
