Video Analysis & Toggle Playback Views

Introduction

With Yogger, users have access to several different viewing options when using the playback feature. Users can quickly toggle between the video with a tracking overlay (default), only the tracking overlay, only the video, and a 3D figure.

Location: All of the options (the tracking overlay, video, tracking overlay with video, and 3D figure) can be found using the button in the top left corner of the playback view.

Purpose and Functionality

The toggle feature can be used to switch between several different views to best understand the movement. It is much easier to see joint actions when the overlay is turned on.

The purpose of the 3D view in video analysis software is to provide a more in-depth understanding of movement by allowing users to see actions from multiple angles. It’s particularly valuable for analyzing complex movements, as it reveals details and interactions between joints and body parts that might be missed in a 2D view, helping to refine technique and identify potential issues in form.

How to Use

In order to take full advantage of all of the views, users simply need to repeatedly click the button in the top left corner to switch between:

  • Video with tracking overlay
  • Only the tracking overlay
  • Only the video
  • The 3D figure

Tips and Best Practices

  • Use overlay views for accuracy: When analyzing joint actions or movement phases, keep the tracking overlay on.
  • Compare with 3D: Use the 3D figure to get alternative angles that are not visible in the standard camera footage.
  • Toggle frequently: Switching between views can help reveal movement patterns or compensations that might not be obvious from one perspective.
  • Focus on clarity: If visuals feel cluttered, toggle to video-only mode for a clearer view of the environment or equipment involved.
